Reaching peak performance is about more than technical skills and ability. Sports psychology uses psychological knowledge and skills to support athletes while enhancing overall well-being and recognizing the social and emotional factors of playing a high-performance sport. Our sessions also focus on targeting the unique cultural challenges frequently found within teams and organizations. Sport doesn't occur in a vacuum, and I take this into account when designing a program that fits your life and your sport.
Sports psychology interventions are customized to address the athlete's needs, regardless of setting, level of competition, or age. I will work with you to help you overcome the mental and emotional barriers that are preventing you from reaching your peak performance. I offer a broad range of programs and services customized to your specific goals, allowing you to experience and achieve higher levels of success in athletics.
Laura has experience working with athletes from grassroots to international levels in several sports including equestrian show jumping, dressage, soccer, basketball, kayaking, table tennis, hockey, football, golf, and aerial skiing.
Artistic individuals embody their craft in every aspect of their being. The psychology of the performing arts requires massive amounts of creative energy, vulnerability, and courage to display the talents and work of performers to the public. I recognize the pressure many skilled performers face in sharing their talents and endeavour to provide support through developing confidence, overcoming performance anxiety, building cast, band, or collaborative group cohesion, and defending against burnout and creative blocks.
In sport and performance, there are unique cultural challenges frequently found within teams and organizations. I work with sports teams, creative cohorts, casts, bands, and small groups to ensure they are engaging with and developing their potential in a way that benefits every aspect of their performance. Working together as a group to build your skills and group cohesion allows your team to move forward together. The fundamentals of sport and performance psychology can also be used to help organizations and other small groups develop more productive and cohesive teams.
